Ghana the Beautiful

May 18th, 2006 | By: Robert | No Comments »

Apparently sponsors have agreed about something we have long known; among African nations Ghana truly is tops in attractiveness to sponsors.

A recent poll of World Cup sponsors recently ranked Ghana number 10 among participating nations in attractiveness to potential sponsors. No other African nation was ranked as high, and Ghana was ranked higher than major economic players like United States and football mad Japan.

Reasons cited for Ghana’s attractiveness include the rabid nature of its supporters, the novelty of a first-time competitor and international fame of the Black Stars logo. Let’s hope this attractiveness can translate into new dollars to upgrade our nation’s pitches and stadia.
