Latest Rumours

No incisive analysis of the latest fumbling bumblings from the Black Stars, but no shortage of gossip in the Ghana press. The latest:

Contrary to speculation to the contrary, the Grandmaster, head technician Ratomir “Doya” Dujkovic claims he is not heading for Qatar to lead their national squad. While the Middle Eastern minnows are about Doya’s speed, one shouldn’t be surprised if his claims are accurate. Given the Grandmaster’s propensity for finding his way to (and exploiting) brutal or war torn regimes (eg Myanmar, Rwanda), one would expect him to find a home closer afield, say Chad.

Questions also swirl as to whether Arminia striker Isaac Boakye chose not to play in the Mexico friendly or was legitimately blocked, against his will, by the oppressive US visa police. Remember that there has been a long history around Boakye and the GFA, recalled/dismissed/recalled/dismissed. While some of this is doubtless typical GFA backdoor shenanigans, were Boakye truly the answer to the Stars weakness on attack, he would certainly not be subject to this foolishness.

Finally, a question has been raised by those who should hide their heads in shame whether you commentator is a Nigerian. Oh Charlie! Certainly a discourse such as this one designed to pull no punches could be seen to foment discontent in a manner similar to those hideous to behold jackals of the Nigerian press. But Starry Wisdom is no Nigerian. Around here, all prayers are made for the Black Stars of Ghana, soon to be shown to be the emperors of West African Football and the Pride of Africa.
