Ghana’s New Jersey

Today, Puma unveiled Ghana’s new home jersey, which will be worn tomorrow for Ghana vs. Guinea, the tournament opener. Puma’s been rather nice to Ghana in the past week, having already delivered a cushy Mercedes-Benz Tourismo to the Black Stars as their official team bus.

The new kit is almost as nice. While it’s still white like its predecessor, the new kit features eyecatching black trim on the collar and on the sleeves. The Puma logo has been moved from its distracting central location to the right side. And apparently, the Ghana Football Association’s logo is rendered in 3D.

I personally think the new one is better than the old one. What do you guys think?

Classy. It’s got an air of ’70s Germany and Beckenbauer about it, possibly because of the black trim.

[...] Nations jersey was only recently revealed by Puma, and big thanks to Inara from the Ghana blog for spotting it. Manufacturers Puma have done the smart thing and moved their big cat from the center of the shirt [...]

The other thing I like about this jersey is the fact that the imprinted stars that were on the previous home jersey are no longer there. I thought those stars were kind of tacky, to be honest. Glad to see Puma got rid of those.

It looks very nice, the black trim makes it look classy and the logo definitely looks better than it’s predecessor. Infact, compared to it I dare say that the old kit looks like an eyesore. Puma have done a very good job.
