World Cup Kits Flap

By now you have probably already seen the new home jersey that Ghana will wear in Germany (the Road kits have not been introduced). If not, have a gander.

Don’t know whether the new Puma design is subject to international ridicule yet, but it is certainly subject to considerable local dismay.

While other nations prefer Puma’s new stylized design motif, which will be similar to those sported by numerous other nations in Germany, true Black Stars fans are Old School. We prefer a strong Red, Gold and Green Pattern, as well as the Black Star featured prominently on one’s heart. Currently, there is no red, gold, or green to be seen on the jersey, which as one pundit has noted, should cause Kwame Nkrumah to roll over in his grave. Nor is the Star shown prominently on the jersey even black. No grey stars are we.

Perhaps there is hope yet for a flashy and flamboyant road jersey a la Senegal, but now all we can do is look longingly at the jerseys of Angola (and, at least, on the orange monstrosities of Cote D’Ivoire disparagingly).
