Salou to play for Black Stars

April 24th, 2006 | By: WC Bob | 1 Comment »

Striker Ibrahim Salou will be suiting up for Ghana, his country of birth, instead of his adopted homeland of Belgium. The 26-year-old had received overtures to play for Belgium after scoring 14 goals in all competitions with first division side Zulte-Waregem this season, but in the end he was swayed by the chance to represent Ghana at the World Cup.

“I am a Ghanaian by blood and to be called by your national team to play for them is a big honour,” he said.

I’m not too familiar with his game. Anyone out there ever see him play?

You can never have too many quality strikers.
